Supporting your child in beginning therapy is a courageous step, and I am here to walk alongside you through this process.
You may be seeking support because you notice your child struggling in their relationships. You may see them feeling anxious and unsure about where they belong. Perhaps you are noticing your child struggling with self-esteem and how they see themselves. You may see them putting pressure on themselves to be the “perfect” student and beginning to feel overwhelmed. Maybe you’re noticing feelings of loneliness or disconnection from family and peers.
Wherever your child might be in their journey, I am here to offer a space grounded in curiosity and compassion.
I utilize both talk therapy and art therapy to support young folks in finding unique ways to express themselves, working together to cultivate compassion, build communication skills, and explore more authentic ways of being.
As a trauma-informed, anti-oppressive therapist, I recognize that experiences of discrimination, bias, and systemic oppression can deeply impact how children and adolescents see themselves and their place in the world. I meet young people where they are developmentally, supporting them in naming their experiences, making meaning of them, and feeling more empowered in who they are.
While the majority of my work will be with your child, I strongly value bringing you and other caregivers into the conversation. Centering your child’s consent, I will support you and your child in feeling safe enough to share and create deeper understanding and connection with one another.
